Microsoft word was first released on October 1983 under the name Multi-Tool for Xenix systems. This gave the user to draw text with graphical effects of various designs in variety of shapes and colours. Effects were like shadow, glow, reflection could be added easily.

  • Macros

This is a pattern of hoe certain inputs are to be considered and mapped to an output sequence according to defined process. This reduced the frequent works of repetitive sequences of keystrokes and mouse movements.

  • Bullets and numbering

This brought in auto numbering and arranging of data to the file, pages, chapters, headers, footnotes. One thing exiting about this is it can be added to a paragraph to convert them onto lists.
